BASENJI

One of the oldest breeds of domesticated dog, predating the development of modern breeds. an African hunting dog, it was originally found in the Congo. The name of the breed comes from a Congolese word meaning "dogs of the villagers" or "dogs of the savages".

CANAAN DOG

A pariah breed that has existed in the middle east for thousands of years. After its original breeders were driven from Canaan, the breed became semi-feral herding dogs for desert dwelling nomads.

THAI RIDGEBACK DOG

A hunting dog with ancient origins in eastern Thailand, the Thai ridgeback is one of the few breeds that possess a ridge of reverse-facing hair along the spine. They are classified as a landrace or primitive breed.

AUSTRALIAN CATTLE DOG

A herding breed developed in the outback of Australia, the Australian cattle dog is the only domesticated dog with dingo heritage.
