Second Chance Rescue
Here at Fortuna's Rescue, we work to provide a permanent home for all of the dogs on Furry Paws. We get our dogs from the Humane Society, buy them when they're for sale for $0, and buy them when they are not taken care of for long intervals of time by their owners. Most people think Furry Paws dogs are just a game, but we know better. Furry Paws isn't just a game. The dogs on here are as real as you want them to be. If you don't take care of them, they are just a game. Neglected. But if you care for your dogs every chance you get, then they are better than a game. Our goal is to run out of dogs to provide a home for. Because that would mean there were no more abandoned dogs on Furry Paws. If you need to get rid of a dog, or can't care for it, transfer it to a rescue, or someone who says they'll take unwanted dogs! Don't leave it in your kennel uncared for, up for sale. At least lock the dog. Dogs don't reach their full potential when they're aging away without being cared for. Our job as a rescue is to provide quality care and love for these dogs. They could just be a game. But they can be so much more.
We are always in need of supplies, as running a rescue means caring for dogs who have no one else left. We are by NO means begging for donations. All we are saying is that IF, and ONLY if, you have FPD, FPP, or items, such as food, collars, leashes, chews, toys, and beds, that you do not need, those items are always needed here, and will be put to good use with our dogs.
Our goal is to provide homes for dogs, dividing them up by their level, and we are looking to put them up for private sale for $0, and find them a good, permanent, loving home. We DO have kennel checks, and as long as your dogs are fully cared for daily, shown, and not retired early, chances are your bid on a dog will be accepted. We are NOT looking to sell dogs to other rescues!! You will not receive the dog if you are a rescue!!
We also have waiting lists for dogs, so that you will be notified when the dog you are looking for comes in. *NOTICE* WAITING LISTS ARE DONE ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVE BASIS. If a dog comes in that there is a waiting list for, the person who FIRST signed up for that waiting list will be notified first. If that person is still interested in the dog, they will get the dog. If that person is not still interested in the breed, or would prefer to wait for another dog of that breed, the NEXT person on the waiting list will be notified, and so on. *IMPORTANT* Once you receive a dog from the breed you are on the waiting list for, you will be moved to the bottom of the list, so that others can have a chance at our rescue dogs as well.
We will take in unwanted dogs, so if you have any that you can no longer care for for whatever reason, you are welcome to transfer it to us, and we will find it another home. PLEASE DO NOT RESELL OUR DOGS!!! If you purchase a dog, and later find you can no longer care for it, PLEASE transfer it back to us. We will find the dog another home. If you resell the dog, it could end up being sold back and forth like a ping-pong ball! The poor dog just needs to be returned to us, where it will happily live in our rescue facilities until we find it another home.
To be added to the waiting list for a dog, you can find our post on the form and post there, or you can simply send us a message!
Thank you for taking the time to read about our rescue. If you have any questions about us, feel free to send us a message!
Thank you to the donators who made this rescue what it is today.
