Today my dog ran away and I am very sad because my sister told me if I let it run away she will kill my favorite Barbie doll. So, now here I was sitting on the couch running my hand down her tangled blonde hair. It was depressing to know that this beautiful doll I held in my hand was soon going to be dismantled by my evil sister. The thought of her being torn apart and smashed by that beast made me shudder and tighten the grip on my doll. I didn’t want my precious girlfriend to go. I loved her, and even though she would just lay there idly without ever any response, I knew she loved me too. After all, who was the one that begged mommy to get me that Barbie house!? Of course, no one could make a better husband than me after what I had done. Even though the kids teased me about being a boy and having a Barbie doll I didn’t care. I loved her, and I wanted to protect her because I was her man, yes, that’s who I was, am, and will be for this lady that I adore! Suddenly, I was filled with so much energy and I jumped on my feet and screamed, “YES! I will protect you Susana!” and I scrambled to my room with my doll, awaiting my sister’s return It has been 2 hours since I've locked myself in my room. The key for my door had been successfully stolen and I was sitting comfortably under my bed with everything set, and I was ready. I giggled  wildly, as my plan played out perfectly in my head. My sister will come in and she'll try to get me to open the door, but I won't let her! she'll then get mad, but let give up, and let me go as well, I thought! "heeheehee!", I giggled some in joy as I held Melanie in one arm, and with my free hand, stroking her hair with my other. twist click bam I winced as the sound of the front door was slammed shut. This was it I thought, as I gripped tighter onto Melanie with my arms, silently listening to the sound of foot steps and clacking of shoes echo through the halls. This was it, repeated in my head again, and again, clenching my shaky fist, trying to fight away my fearshown on my body, until suddenly, I hear the voice of a familiar stranger.   "William...?" AND CREATED A FORM OF GOVERNMENT....the Republic. Republic was controlled by the wealthy, the Patricians. Patricians: Elected officials within their social class. Wealthy Plebeians: Commoners, were left with no voice in government. To find a place in government Plebeians ran away when Rome was invaded and it made the Patricians realize that they needed the Plebeians to help them gaurd Rome, so they decided to be more fair and formed a goverment for that. They formed assemblys to protect the rights of Plebeians. The plebeians would elect there own officials(tribunes) who had the power to veto laws seen as unfair to the plebeians. THE LAW OF TWELVE TABLES 450 B.C. Plebeians created a table to ensure their rights were ot violated they carved on uh...stone stuff the laws for everyone to see. Republican had three branches so no branch could have complete control 1. Senate: Three hundred members, met in forums, controlled money, foreign Policy, and advised elective officials 2.Assembly: Voted on laws, elected officials, and declared wars 3. Magistrates(consuls): Priests. COntrolled daily affairs and acted as judges. Magistrates are elected for a term of one year. They acted as Chief exucutive and commander in Chief of the military. They were allowed to propose new laws Dictator: One ruler who has absolute power. Dictators were selected when times were needed. Usually their rule never lasts more than six. Imperialism: going out to raid other places to expand their power and territory THE PUNIC WAR because Rome was growing, they needed more land and uh..imperialism. First it went smoothly until The Punic War, when Rome went to war with Carthage. The first battle: Carthage won and began to expand their territory by taking over part of Italy and Spain, killing many romans along the way. The second battle: Carthage lost, Rome but.... The thrid battle: Rome just wanted to destroy Carthage. 149 BC, Rome conquerd Carthage, and enslaved its people. MEANWHILE. Rome created an alliance with the the Greek city-states Alexander the Great died in 323 BC and when that happen battles between generals began and the empire fell, and the Greeks became afraid of being conquered. Then when they got an Alliance with Rome they were able to defeat Macedonia and Persia. Eventually Greece was controlled by the Romance, but the Greek culture would take over Roman society. Rome became so powerful it needed multiple rulers.The instability caused Civil Wars Lucius Cornelius Sulla rose to power and he was very cruel and strict, but he restored Power to Senate. Resign 79 BC Anyway Rome became SO powerful they needed multiple rulers. Three men came to power in 60 BC: Julius Ceasar, Gnaeus Pompey, and Licinius Crassus. They were known as the First Triumvirate. Crassus dies and Julius(west) and Pompey(east) battle, and Julius Ceasar wins. Julius Ceasar made many reforms like extensions of citzenship and he was very popular. In 44 BC the senate decalred Julius Ceasar dictator for life. Several senators however were displeased and killed him. Then the next Triumvirate was with OCtavian(Julius Ceasar's adopted son), Mark Antony, and Lepidus. Like the other one, one of them dies. Lepidus dies and Ovtavian and Mark Antony battle, the winner: Octavian. Antony and Cleopatra, Antony's Ally lost, and commited suicide together. Gaius Julius Octavius real father died when he was four and he was the child of Julius Ceasar's sister. When his dad died, Julius Ceasar adopted him, making him the heir. After the defeat of Antony Rome changed drastically, ending the Roman Republic. The senate gave Octavian the title of Augustus in 27 BC. from 27 BC - 14 AD was called the Augustan Age. Julius was able to rule well because he treated everything justly. He reduced miliatary spending compromised with Rome's enemies. He gave veterans farmland and made sure the poor were fed distributed farms to landless peasants. Encouraged literature. New policy toward provinces made, and slowly raised to a status of equality with italy and Stopped rome's expansion. He led rome to peace and prosperous times because he couldn't produce heirs he adopted a son, Tiberus Mesoamerica(middle america) rather than building rivers along huge rivers or sea/ocean they built their place near smaller bodies of water. They didn't use metal(except for jewlery or artwork) they didn't use any kind of special transportation because of lack of it....(thought sometimes there is a llama....) most of the time...it was either by hand or canoe. So most of the loads were small. Writing systems were unkown..besides the Mayan's and maybe Olmec The Mesoamerican civilizatoin was based on relationship with gods and the enviornment In Teotihaucan people worshipped many gods and constructed lots of pyrimads for the sun, the moon, and to Quetzalcoatl. Human sacrifice was made as sacred duty and esstential well-being of society. OLMEC The first distinct Mesoamerican culture. It mostly centered around priests and peasant farmers. They succeeded on gathering food and making large buildings. This society is called the "mother culture" of central America They lived alongthe guld coast Olmec towns are believed to be very political and religious centers where one could find ball courts, pyramids, and elaborate tombs. RUler and Priests lived inside towns and peasants and commoners lived outside it. Dammit why can't I get this right!?? last comment!I promise! OKay, so the group didn't actually save the world, but the boy(player) did.
