Welcome to my kennel! I don't think that dogs like Staffordshire Bull Terriers, or American Pit Bull Terriers are really mean dogs. Centuries ago, they were trained by their owners to be fierce and harsh. Sure, maybe some of their traits got passed down into other generations, but it was centuries ago. They just have a bad reputation. The only reason that so many of these dogs are turned into shelters every year is because they are high-energy and require an experienced owner. Sometimes, it's even because they just aren't accustomed to kids, so they bark or sometimes even nip at them. That just proves that you have to do your research before you get a dog.
