Jardin de Proserpine

Le monde est tranquil ici. You may have noticed my rather...unusual method for naming my dogs. You see, a while back, I was thinking about how to scold my (real life) dog. That got me thinking about how to fully name a dog, and so I came up with this little system: The FIRST NAME is the name you give them; maybe it's Fido. We'll use Fido for this example. The MIDDLE or SECOND NAME is the name of the father (if a male pup) or the mother (if female) of said puppy. Let's say Fido was born to two dogs named Scooby and Lassie. His name so far would be Fido Scooby. Let's say Fido had a sister named Sugar. Her name would be Sugar Lassie. And the LAST NAME or FAMILY NAME is the last name of the owner. If Fido and Sugar were part of the Smith family, for example, they would be Fido Scooby Smith and Sugar Lassie Smith. Let's say Sugar had to leave the Smith family for some reason, and got adopted by a family called the Jacksons. Much like in human adoption, her family name would change with her adoption; Sugar Lassie Smith becomes Sugar Lassie Jackson. Because dogs tend to change owners more often than humans change last names, I treat the middle name of a dog as a sort of...family identifier. If Fido had a brother, for example, who was adopted by the Jones family, their names would be Fido Scooby Smith and...I dunno, Dandy Scooby Jones.
