At Racing Into History Kennels, we aim to be one of the best racing kennels in the game and we are currently in the process of developing a line of Basenjis for the purpose of racing. The Basenji was selected in order to provide even more of a challenge, because unlike some of the other sighthounds, the Basenji is not a racing breed in real life. Since this is a game, I wanted to try something a bit different and less mainstream. We have also recently added Chinooks bred for Sledding, which have the same goals as our Basenjis. The Basenjis will still be the main focus, even though we are adding more breeds to our project list.
The other unique thing about Racing Into History Kennels is the naming theme of the dogs. If you scroll through our dogs, you'll notice each one has been named after a racehorse. I decided to do this in order to tie together my love for horses and my love for dogs in one game. My game name also shows this, because it is inspired by two of my favorite racehorses, Frosted and American Pharoah. The plan is for each generation of dogs to be from a different era of racing history. For example, my foundation dogs are all named after nineteenth century racehorses. Then, once they are ready to breed, their offspring will be named after a different era. This will allow me to both have fun researching and naming my dogs, and be able to tell at a glance what generation each dog is from based on their decided name.
The long term goal is to have the best line of Basenjis in the game, but below I've divided my goals into a few key milestones.
When starting lines, I breed at lower levels until I get the genetics to a certain point, then I plan on breeding exclusively at 88 and 100 days. This is just so the project moves quicker. If aptitudes end up being terrible, I will buy some store bought dogs, raise them to 100 days, and then breed them into my lines if they display solid aptitudes. My side project dogs are only bred at 88 and 100 days if I breed them at all.
Thank you so much to Junuh who gave me the FPP needed to reach Elite privileges! I am incredibly grateful and I hope to some day do the same for someone else.
