Oak Paw Haven

* As you're driving through the city in your car, you're looking for places that say 'Hiring' Multiple copies of your resume sit in the passenger seat. You've always had a love for animals, cats, dogs, the whole 9 yards. You come across a big wooden sign that says 'Oak Paw Haven' 3 miles and next to it a smaller plastic sign that says 'Help wanted' When you drive down the concrete driveway you look at the large pine trees along the road. You're curious, so you park at the end and hop out of your car. You see a big brown and tan building that looks like a barn. The only difference was the size of the individual yards, they were smaller than average. You notice a sign on the gate to an agility course '2 dogs at most' That's when you finally realize that this is a dog kennel. It was surrounded by grassy fields with fences. You take a peek into the barn and see a small built-in kennel with a nameplate on the front that reads "Mocha" Almost immediately, the medium-sized Australian shepherd pokes her head out to say hello, her black nose sticking out the furthest. "Nice to see you've met our mascot!" You hear as you pet the dog. You turn around to see a young girl who looks to be about 17. On her shirt, there's a nametag "Lila". You notice that it's not only 1 dog. There seem to be about 20. Each doing its own thing, playing, napping, and scratching at the kennel door. The more you talk the more you feel like you would be a good fit here. You hand Lila your resume and go home. A few days later you get a call that you got the job. The environment is happy, calm, and safe. A good place to be. * (We strive to have 2 of each breed we wish to have.) (If a dog becomes too old to compete we sell them. Competing our dogs is the main way we make money, once a dog can no longer compete we do not need to keep them.) (We also try to keep our dogs as comfortable and happy as we can.)
