Elkhorn Mountain Kennels

Elkhorn Mountain Kennels is a part of a working ranch nestled in the valley of the Elkhorn Mountains of Eastern Oregon. We primarily focus on producing and training high quality herding dogs using them to work our livestock (mostly sheep and cattle, but we have a small herd of horses as well) here on the ranch. Our dogs are mainly drovers and flock guardians but we welcome any breed capable of herding. When possible we also train our dogs in skills and sports that would be helpful out here in the remote mountains. Hunting and field trials as well as pulling, sledding, and tracking are all useful to help subsidize our rugged lifestyle where we're often forced to be self reliant especially during the long winters.
