About Lyz

I'm known as Lyz online, or to anyone else. My passion is working with animals, I work for a Veterinarian out here in Las Vegas, and I've been working there for quite some time. At work, I assist doing pretty much anything from holding off veins, to surgery prep, to the lowliest of the low jobs - cleaning up kennels. That said, while work is often fun, it's really not that exciting.

Currently I am a high school student taking all advanced courses ("AP" and Honors). I plan on graduating a year early, and thus continuing onto my dream of attending Veterinary college. I'm in the Air Force Reserve officer training corps, and have loads of fun. I've met my two biggest influences in this course - the Colonel and Sergeant. They've helped me through a lot of tough times.

I love doing art, and I've been drawing ever since I was old enough to hold a crayon. I'm enrolled in what are called "AP" College Art courses, wherein my artwork goes to display through college board and is then critiqued through the harshest level of critique imaginable, then sent back to me as a "test grade" of sorts. My art is displayed in a single public gallery here in Nevada, and that's been a very encouraging experience for me.

I also love playing instruments. To be specific, guitar and Piano are my forte. I only just started electric guitar, on my american electric Fender strat guitar, Izzy. I've been playing Piano for years though, and can pretty much pick up a tune with relative ease. I like to write and compose my own music as well, and do so with an odd assortment of friends who have like interests. Especially James...

I'm a hardcore roleplayer, and I roleplay often. As result of this phenomena, I have very advanced characters who tend to reflect my image in some way or another. I stick with Wolves, Horses and "anthropormorphics" [furries] as characters. My dream job is to go to Dreamworks studio and work there as a storyboard artist or animator, but that may just be wishful thinking, and until then, I'll continue on the old beaten path that's been set for me into Veterinary school, where I'll begin to further my love and adoration for all things feral.

Back to Furry-Paws: Been busy, now I should be back. Maybe not extremely into working the dogs much, mostly for art commisions.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: the final book in the series, was illegally released today, instead of on the 21'st when it would be legally sold in stores. Because of this [I am trying to avoid all spoilers] I am locking down my account until further notice. I will not be on the internet these upcoming weeks and am locking down all my networking systems to avoid temptation.

I got my elite account today! I'm really excited and I'm going to start working on my tags very soon. So, like I said -- getting serious about the dogs now, and even more serious now that I'm an elite! [FP is much better being an elite, by the way.]

My muse is back for Furry-Paws! I bought my Great Dane puppies today, Argos and Voodoo. I'm going to try and start a good line of Danes using store-bought puppies. I'm keeping my numbers down as of this point, that way I can focus all of my attention to these dogs, and hopefully have a breedable line of Danes started sooner than never! :]

I'm finally getting back into playing Furry-paws. I took a long break - almost an entire year! In this time, my dogs aged, and I retired them all. I'm no longer breeding Czetch Wolfdogs. My fancy now is Great Danes.

About Timbucktoo

Here at Timbucktoo, we breed Great Danes. We're just starting our Great Danes, as we used to breed wolfdogs. Generally, we're going to be a strictly Great Dane kennel, but you may see a few other miscellanious breeds pop their heads through here every once in a while. Sometimes we'll be a second home to breeds we love, or breeds we've seen succeed and wish to try our hands at, but Danes will always be the predominant breed here.

Breeding at Timbucktoo

Please follow my rules for breeding, or do not ask me. I'm not trying to be rude, but I won't breed my dogs to someone who's not going to do anything with them.

Minimum breeding level: 13

You must be in a professional position to breed with my dog - like a Professional Trainer, Master Breeder, or Star Competitor. I prefer Star Competitors, because I know the puppies will go to good homes.

You must offer my dogs back to me if you can no longer care for them, or don't want them, before you sell them!

If you buy a dog from me, you must not breed it until it is at least level 10

Stud fee's are 1000 FPD x the dogs level.

Timbucktoo's Standards...

These are just some rules - or guidelines - that I have set up for my kennel. They're personal standards and don't really apply to the general public, but in case everyone would like to take a look at them, to see how Timbucktoo operates, here you are!

Feeding...
Dogs: will be fed in a [brown] or special bowl, Lacrima Dry [or canned] Healthy.
Litters: will be fed one bag of Lacrima Healthy Puppy.


Water...
Bowls will be washed and cleaned out once a day, then refilled with fresh, pure, cold water to ensure freshness.


Playtime:

Our Great Danes are played with twice daily with a red frisbee. Any other breed that we have at the kennels will be given their choice of toys, and played with the same time as our Danes are.


Litters...
Puppies in litters will remain with us until they are 10 days old. For our Great Danes, we use this time to socialize, gene test, vaccinate, and color test all of our dogs. We tend to start basic obedience on our dogs as well, and at the 10 day old stage, when dogs are old enough to leave our kennel we guarantee they will know several "trick" commands to ensure their happiness and health throughout their lives. We do not enter our puppies in shows, and leave this up to new owners to decide what to do.

Spay and Neuter at Timbucktoo...

As a rule, our dogs are spayed or neutered before they are sold, unless we have worked something out with the new owners. This procedure is often called 'altering' and is virtually harmless to the animals. We do this to ensure that our lines do not get tamered with or corrupted. Bitches will occasionally be let sold without spaying, but for dogs - it's few and far between.

Reserving your dog at Timbucktoo...

If you plan on reserving a puppy from our dogs [and I will post on the boards when we have upcoming litters] then the price will be 1000FPD x the highest stat. If you are getting an unaltered puppy [not spay/neutered] you will double your price. Like I said, this is Timbucktoo's insurance. This way, our lines don't get out, and we don't have an overpopulation of useless dogs on Furry-Paws; especially not those marked with the traditional Timbucktoo signature.

Timbucktoo's Registered Prefix's...

Pretty cool, huh? Timbucktoo is the only kennel on Furry-Paws that has a registered prefix longer than 4 characters. Our prefix's do have meanings, and we try not to over-abuse this power of having over four characters - it's difficult sometimes, but we manage. Our dogs were 'branded' with a different prefix per different times we got them, or different breeds, etc. There is a desciription about the prefix's we've used below, but no description on how to add more letters to the original prefix. It's a little secret amongst the computer savvy. I'll just let you all keep on guessing. *grin*

Behind the Prefix's:

PIRATE: Representative of my own wild nature, and the equal nature that we hope to instill in our dogs. We hope to be a fierce line of breeders and instill that terror in all who look upon us - in the show ring, in an agility trial, in schutzhund, in obedience. We hope to be the best, and come on, what's better than pirates?

Talisturo, my fursona

Talisturo is a huge male wolf that I created some several years ago. He's been my fursona and represented me over the years whereas other characters have just become static. I'm female in real life, but take on a male fursona because I find his character fun, easy, and reflective of my inner spirit and personal thoughts. I've developed his character beyond levels of fantasism, and now consider him almost realistic in all aspects other than palpability, but even here I've filled in - drawing art, making sculptures, recieving gift art, and when I can, making stuffed animals or posters.

STATISTICS:
NAME: Talisturo [TAL - ist - YOUR - OH]

AGE: 4 yrs [approx]

HEIGHT: 4"3 /withers

WEIGHT: 513 LBS

SPECIES: Canine [WOLF]

EYE COLOR: left; green right; silver

FUR COLOR: Predominantly black with splotches of gold and white color. There is a gold "dun line" running down his back, as well as a splotch of white over the shoulders. There is a tip of white at the base of the tail [this is important!] His paws are all splotched white up to his knees, except his hind left paw. His nose is black, and his paw-pads are black and pink.

SPECIAL FEATURES: Talisturo has unnaturally long, black claws that are dull and straight. They are non-retractable. He has very human expressions and has an "intelligent" face with much more facial expression than the average feral wolf. He has very large ears that rotate in all angles, like normal. He can speak and understand human languages very well. However this, he seldom speaks to anybody - human or animal. He's reclusive, silent, withdrawn, and almost shy. He also can tell when you're lying, as he's such a pure creature - he cannot, or rather chooses not to - lye himself. He finds it unneccessary. He does not feel complex emotions - such as vengeance, as he's merely a wolf. Feral, and very close to his ancestory.


INSANITY: Talisturo suffers from a type of insanity where he has "freak attacks" ever so often. This is a reason he steers clear of people, so not to make a fool of himself. These attacks are dangerous, and he hurts himself and others until they stop - which can last anywhere from a few minutes, to a day or longer.


TIMEFRAME: Medevial era. I make exceptions and certain technological advances have been created, but I keep it minimal. Most of this is sword, and shield warfare.

NATURAL PREY: Talisturo's most common prey are horses. Where he was born in high, snowy landscapes, horses were commonsight as they migrated to warmer, deeper valleys. He found hunting these animals easy. He also hunts large snow-mountain animals, such as ibex. He'll also hunt forest animals like Moose, Elk, or even young bear on the occasion that he's feeling a bit cocky.

PERSONALITY: Despite his menacing appearance, Talisturo is a very friendly animal to those who give him a chance. I like to say that he's cryptic, and vague - which he is. He makes odd statements sometimes, and is a very quite animal. However, he's still a dog (wolf) and he's as loyal as they come. He seldom barks, but would give his life for a pet and a treat, or kind word. Faithful to the end, and though intelligent, easily tricked, he can be a quite companion, or a silent assassin, if you rub him the right way.

Here at Timbucktoo, Lyz does both digital and traditional art. We make everything from layouts, to tags, to even banners and manipulatons. Anything you ask for, we can most certainly make for you. Our graphics are pretty high-priced to deter thieves. The only thing that we are not offering to the public at this point is animated graphics of any kind.

Art Policy

First of all, I make my art so that people can use, see, and enjoy it. I'm selling you my artwork -- not my rights to the piece. When I sell you art, you do not have the right to alter, redistribute, or in any other way change my work unless you have my explicit permission and we have worked out a written agreement beforehand.

I will not be offering prices in FPP forever! Most of my work is priced at USD simply because I don't want virtual money. Sometimes, if you're really intersted in my artwork, you can send me a request and we may be able to work something out, but don't go ahead of yourself. I'll be expecting high prices for most of my work.
